Dick Calvert

 

Dick Calvert has served on the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame Board of Trustees for over 10 years serving as the host and master of ceremonies at its induction ceremonies. Dick was inducted as a member of the 2010 Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame class at its induction ceremony on June 4th. A familiar sound for Southern Nevadans of all ages, Dick Calvert, the “Voice of the Rebels”, is in his fifth decade as the staff announcer for UNLV athletics. Calvert, calls UNLV football, basketball, men’s & women’s soccer, baseball and other events at Sam Boyd stadium, Thomas & Mack center, Cox Pavilion, Peter Johann memorial field and Earl E. Wilson stadium. Dick also serves as game announcer for MWC, WCC basketball tournaments, the Las Vegas bowl, NBA summer league, FIBA Americas tournament and the USA basketball senior men’s national team, as well as the official starter at numerous university and NCAA golf tournaments.

Dick and his wife Anne have four children, Jennifer, Corky, Michael, Sandra along with 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
